I was born in Athens, Greece. After graduating from Varvakios School, I studied at the University of Athens (BSc), Athens University of Economics and Business (MSc) and West Virginia University (PhD). I am currently Research
Professor in HR&OB and Director of CRESS (Center for Research in Employment, Skills and Society) at Kingston University London and a Distinguished Associate of the International Atlantic Economic Society (IAES). I have held teaching and research appointments in several
universities and organizations, including Brunel University, the University of Kent, City University, NYU in London, and the
Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
I have published widely in the
areas of personnel economics, human resource management, well-being at work and behavioural economics. My recent publications
include articles in the Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, British
Journal of Management, Economic Journal, Psychological Science, International Journal of Human
Resource Management, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Economica, and Journal of Personality
and Social Psychology. My work has been highly cited and has attracted media coverage. I have more than 2300 citations
in Google Scholar and ranked in the 5th percentile in the REPEC rankings. My current research interests focus on personnel
selection and assessment, organizational change, adaptation, intrinsic motivation, labour market outcomes, work-life
balance, and social comparisons at work. I am interested in supervising PhD students in any of these areas.
